I love Melissa McCarthy. Not only she is a brilliant actress, she is also a smart, beautiful and inspiring woman. Whenever I see a new movie coming out with her starring in it – I know 100% that this movie is going to be great and that I HAVE to see it for sure 🙂
The secret behind McCarthy’s success is simple: She will do whatever it takes to get a giggle.
“I picked a career at which you have to be a bit crazy to think you can make a living. The lunacy is, I get to; that doesn’t ever escape me.” says McCarthy.
What’s even more mind-boggling is that in an industry obsessed with youthful, toothpick-slim actresses, McCarthy has never let her age or her shape become an issue. “Sometimes I wish I were just magically a size 6 and I never had to give [my weight]a single thought,” admits McCarthy, who plays tennis and does Pilates. “But I am weirdly healthy, so I don’t beat myself up about it — it wouldn’t help, and I don’t want to pass that on to my girls.” Besides, when it comes to acting roles, McCarthy considers her size irrelevant. “I’ve never been interested in playing the boring ingenue,” she replies. “I always wonder, Who’s her weird friend? I like the oddballs.”
She’s one of the most confident actresses out there, and I LOVE her for that, but even the most confident actress on the planet knows that criticism can suck. McCarthy’s faced plenty of her own, and here’s what she has to say about it:
McCarthy has left tears behind, and, instead, is working on making all of us laugh. Her newest film, “The Boss” , hits theaters April 8th, and from the look of the new trailer, she will deliver the same craziness she showed us in all of the rest of her movies.
For now, lets take a look at some of her words of wisdom.
Melissa McCarthy launched her own clothing line in the fall of 2015. Called Melissa McCarthy Seven7. McCarthy’s line of womenswear is available both in department and specialty stores in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, as well as online on the actress’s new site, melissamccarthy.com .
“I started this line because I wanted to know: Where are the normal clothes?” she explained. “This really is a selfish venture. I wanted to build a better closet for myself.” She also made sure the fit of the clothes addressed her style pet peeves. “I’ve worn every single piece. There are little jeans that are super stretchy and they come all the way up, because I just do not need to see anyone’s muffin top, and I do not need to see anyone bend over and be able to tell what color underwear they’re wearing anymore,” she told PEOPLE.
She’s wanted to be a fashion designer since grade school and is finally getting her chance. The Emmy award-winning actress and comedian has teamed up with Gerard Guez’s Sunrise Brands to create a fashion line, including accessories and beauty products for women.
Good luck to her with all her beginnings. I love to see how people reach their dreams, I love to see happy people.
